Edward Loomis is the Managing Partner and General Agent for Green Cross Insurance LC (“GCI”) a national health insurance agency. Mr. Loomis is the principal behind placing about 2000 licensed insurance agents in Rite Aid stores nationwide to sell health insurance through the Affordable Care Act.
Prior to working with GCI, Mr. Loomis worked for many years at Prudential. While being a member of the Prudential Dream Builder program, in 2008 Mr. Loomis began working on health care financing issues. Over the years, Mr. Loomis has become a subject matter expert on health care insurance and financing, helping many businesses and individuals. His success in this field was recognized by the general market. He has spoken widely on the topic of affordable care nationwide. Locally, he was nominated for a state senate seat, chosen as a member of the Utah Health Policy Project and a member of the exclusive Salt Lake Health Care Reform Task Force.
Mr. Loomis wrote a state health care reform bill which was recently added to the Utah State Senate Leadership priority list. He has also testified to the Utah State Legislature on PPACA implementation issues and has been a confidant to state health care officials.
Prior to serving in the insurance industry, Mr. Loomis’ worked in the sales and marketing industries, primarily with a high tech focus. Mr. Loomis also opened and managed the sales and distribution business in Latin America for a $4 billion high tech firm headquartered in Somerset, New Jersey.
In addition to sales and marketing duties, Eddie ran a micro venture capital fund in South America. He also speaks Spanish and Portuguese.
